Another Setback for YouView Online Video Launch
BT’s pay-TV ambitions have been dealt a blow with the delay of a new and potentially groundbreaking service to bring video-on-demand to Freeview, the Mail can reveal.
Sources told the Daily Mail that the launch of YouView – a joint venture between BT, the BBC, ITV and others – has had to be pushed back by as much as six months. The service, which will offer the BBC iPlayer and a host of other on-demand services, was scheduled to be go live by the summer.
