Can the Tablet-Laptop Hybrids Help Windows Recover?

Recent PC shipments were disappointing, and new ultrabooks have not helped boost the shipments, according to a market study. Ultrabooks have not hit low price points and have yet to excite large numbers of buyers, Canalys said. Ultrabooks are currently priced starting at around $650.
The lines between tablets and PCs are expected to blur with ultrabooks and Microsofts upcoming Windows 8 and RT operating systems launch. Many ultrabook models have touchscreens and can turn into tablets via detachable or flip screens.
The tablet-laptop hybrid models are expected to become available in the coming quarters from companies including Lenovo, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Acer and Asustek Computer.
