New Media Tablets will Become a Key Part of Multi-Screen Pay-TV
Broadband service providers are trying to avoid becoming simply a “dumb” pipe. They’re increasingly implementing plans to provide content to consumers via multiple types of devices within and outside of the home.
Media tablets will achieve parity with notebook PCs and surpass digital televisions in shipments beginning in 2015. By 2017 tablets will be second only to smartphone shipments, representing a combined share of nearly 75% of an increasingly mobile connectable device ecosystem.
