Warner Bros. Pictures is Converting Classic Movies to 3D

As part of Warner Brothers 90th anniversary celebration in 2013, the studio is converting its iconic 1939 movie “The Wizard of Oz” from 2D to 3D for release on Blu-ray Disc 3D (BD3D).

The 3D-converted movie is also expected to be given a limited theatrical run, although this has not yet been confirmed by the studio.

Separately, Warner is releasing the unreleased original 3D version of Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 classic Dial M for Murder on BD3D in October 2012.
