Shoppers in Denmark will Make 164 Million Online Purchases

B2C ecommerce sales in Denmark will reach DKK90 billion ($16.02 billion) in 2015, representing year-over-year growth of 21%.  Just over half of these online sales — around DKK46.3 billion ($8.24 billion) — will come from a spike in online shopping during the 2015 holiday season.

Denmark Leads Global ICT Development Index Rankings

The ITU’s latest data show that Internet use continues to grow steadily, at 6.6% globally in 2014 — 3.3% in developed countries, 8.7% in the developing world. The number of Internet users in developing countries has doubled in five years (2009-2014), with two thirds of all people online now living in the developing world.

More Internet Users in Denmark adopt Music Streaming Services

There’s no denying it – music has gone digital in Denmark. According to recent market data, digital accounted for 82% of total music revenues in the country during the first half of 2014. The key driver of this huge share is streaming services. The format accounted for 63% of music company revenues from recorded music in Denmark.

Mobile Internet Media Usage in Denmark is Growing very Rapidly

Denmark’s internet users are converting to mobile access. In a study, 2.1 million internet users in the country said they went online via a mobile device every day — that’s an increase of 800,000 people since 2012.

The share of respondents who said they were daily mobile web users jumped from 29% to 46% between 2012 and 2014.

Smartphones Surpassed TV Ownership in the Nordic Region

In the Nordic countries combined — Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark — smartphones have surpassed laptops and TVs to become the most-owned device. No matter their ownership levels, smartphone users across the Nordic countries showed similar frequency of usage.

Around one-third said they trusted advertising on mobile phones, and three in 10 said the same for those on social networks.

Mobile eCommerce Search is Very Popular in Denmark

Searching via desktop or laptop was mentioned by 96% of respondents to a survey in Denmark. But 30% said they had also used a media tablet to seek out product information — more than double the 12% who had done so in 2012.

The proportion using a mobile phone was up too, from 28% in 2012 to 37% in 2013. Danish Adults ages 18 to 35 were the biggest fans of mobile phone searches — 63% said they had taken this route.

Digital Marketing Spend Shows Strong Gains in Denmark

Advertising spending on digital media in Denmark jumped almost 40% between Q3 2012 and Q3 2013, according to a new study. This was in sharp contrast to patterns of ad spending on traditional platforms.

Revenues for total media advertising in Denmark grew by an estimated 6% in Q3 2013, compared to the same period in 2012.
